Why does life have to be so hard from start to finish? Why is life so difficult sometimes? There is a simple answer to these questions, especially for the Christian. We are at war— a flat out, knock down, drag out war. Every Christian is a walking battlefield. Our first responsibility in this war is to realize and understand that we are “in” a war. That’s what we will set out to accomplish in this message.
The more you know your enemy the better you are to counteract their moves—to claim victory in those battles. That’s why it is important for us to study God’s word to find the truth about Satan. We are going to study him today—Not to lift him up or to bring him glory in ANYWAY—But to see him as he really is, a powerful but defeated, evil being.
We’ve spent the last several weeks talking about this spiritual battle and how we can prepare for it. Today, it is time to understand why we are putting on the armor and why Satan is fighting so hard to stop us. In this message, Pastor Whyte will spend some time focusing on the importance of OUR MISSION found in Matthew 28:16-20 - the mission that is vital for the health and growth of the church.
We have discussed Satan, where He came from, what his goals are and his motives. We have talked about temptation and how to overcome it. We have discussed the spiritual armor of God and how to put it on and leave it on. We have learned what our mission is and received our deployment papers. But now… it is time to go to war. It is time to march into battle. Today, we tear down Satan’s strongholds in our lives.
